It would be very difficult to find a better mother-in-law than mine, Kathy Carrig Holzer.  But long before her many adult accomplishments, she was just a sweet ranch kid following her dad, Jim Carrig around as he managed ranches.  Kathy grew up helping her mom cook for crews of ranch hands on some of the most historic ranches around the state, including the Snowcrest Ranch owned by the Von Trapps and the N Bar Ranch in the Little Snowy Mountains.

Kathy later married Dick Holzer and raised three incredible boys.  They continue to work the family place, the Mill Iron Livestock Ranch in Moccasin, Montana.  In addition to helping with everything that goes into ranch life, she also makes and designs necklaces for Montana Bones.  Her dad, a wonder with leather designs, makes the leather tags for necklaces, and Dana, her daughter-in-law, is running the daily operations for Montana Bones. Kathy is continually inspiring to all her know her:  her work ethic, kindness and creativity are wonders.  She is a true gem.
