This fall Kathy Carrig Holzer and her dad, Jim Carrig, participated in part of the 43rd Montana Angus tour. That particular day the tour went as far as Wise River and Dillon. Wise River is near Wisdom and the Big Hole where Jim drove a team of horses in the hay field when he was around 9 years old. That stop was a beautiful high mountain ranch, possibly 7,000 feet in elevation.   Jim managed the historic N Bar Ranch of Grass Range when Kathy was in high school where he helped pioneer the success of the Black Angus breed and saw the first Montana Angus tour.  Jim commented several times about how the attendance had greatly increased. Young for his age, Jim's only complaint was that one stop didn't allow enough time to really look at those cattle!   Still tooling leather and loving the livestock industry at almost 87 years old.
